Editing Message Body

Editing the body of a message is based on using key combinations to insert special symbols and displaying a popup window at the same time. It is done in the following way. Suppose you need to insert a Greek letter. To do it, you press and holds down the "Alt" key and a popup window is displayed. This window is used to find the image of the Greek letter you need and to see the combination of two keys that you should press to insert this symbol. For example, it will be "s" and "a" for "alpha". It means that you should hold down the "Alt" key, press and release the "s" key, press and release the "a" key and then release the "Alt" key. After that the Greek letter "Alpha" will be inserted into the text at the place where the cursor is. The same happens when you enter mathematical expressions (holding down "Ctrl"+"Alt" simultaneously) and menu commands ("Ctrl") or change matrix properties ("Caps Lock").

The cursor in the message body consists of three parts. The first one is a blinking vertical bar in the center. This bar indicates the place where a new symbol or an expression will be inserted. The second part is a gray rectangle that is located to the left from the vertical bar. The rectangle indicates the expression that will be deleted after the user presses the "Backspace" key. The third part is a yellow rectangle that is located to the right from the vertical bar. The rectangle indicates the expression that will be deleted if the user presses the "Del" key.

There are two possible types of cursor: text and mouse cursors. In the message body, both of them look as described above. Thus, when you move the text cursor using your mouse, you immediately see where this cursor will be inserted and what can be deleted on each side of the cursor.
